“Sunshine/Warm Breezes” of Los Cabos Return After ‘Jimena’

News:   “Just In”   from our great contact & team contributor, Helle Bandholz @ “TransCabo”

Hurricane Jimena passed along the Pacific Coastline of beautiful Los Cabos on Tuesday, September 1st, without incurring any considerable damages to the destination’s infrastructure.
On Monday about 2,000 visitors left early via the International Airport of San José del Cabo in order not to experience the effects of the approaching storm growing in strengths until reaching Category 5 with sustained winds of 155 mph around its center and winds of up to 185 mph on the outside.
Due to expected impact of heavy rainfalls and strong winds, hotels, businesses and locals prepared according to instructions given by protection teams, which prevented anyone from getting injured. During its 5 hour passage along Los Cabos territory, Hurricane Jimena actually lost strength and decreased to Category 2. While locals were drawn outside their homes and to the beaches observing the incredible waves rolling over the main beach of El Medano Beach, in Cabo San Lucas.
The airport opened again on Wednesday, September 2nd, and hotels reported being fully functional and operational, as normal. As cleaning teams, still working on sand and mud, that had been washed down the streets, local life is back to routine and tourists, that remained in their destinations have started to stroll along the marina.
Today, Los Cabos awoke with it’s beautiful, clear skies, fresh air, ocean breezes and  warm sunshine, as you would only expect it in “Paradise here” at the tip of the Baja California peninsula.
